For All Innovators with the Desire to Preserve the Planet – Take Action to Fight Climate Change

If you want to contribute to the environmental protection, and you are motivated to take action to fight climate change, now is your chance to make it happen!

A public call within the project “Local development resistant to climate changes” has been announced. The aim of the project is to identify the needs of municipal governments, primarily in the segment of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Two challenges have been announced: Open Data Challenge and Innovative Solutions Challenge.

The goal of the Open Data Challenge is to identify the shortcomings in the monitoring of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in local communities throughout Serbia and to propose solutions that local governments can apply in order to establish qualitative and easily accessible (open) GHG databases.

Who can apply for this call:

  • cities and municipalities with over 20,000 inhabitants,
  • public and private enterprises, scientific-research institutions and civil society organizations, but only as part of a consortium with cities and municipalities.

The deadline for submission of project ideas for the Open Data Challenge is February 28, 2018.

Innovative Solutions Challenge searchers for best solutions to reduce GHG emissions that are emitted in the process of using various public utility services, with simultaneous contribution to social, economic and ecologically sustainable development.

Who can apply:

  • units of local self-government,
  • public and private enterprises,
  • research institutions,
  • civil society organizations,
  • individuals.

Deadline for submitting project ideas within the Innovative Solutions Challenge is January 31, 2018.

In accordance with global tendencies, the project presents a model for the introduction and application of scientific and technological innovations, as well as innovative models of funding and conducting business.
