Univerzum Accelerator Finale

On Wednesday, June 8, the Demo Day of the startup accelerator Univerzum was held, jointly launched by the University of Belgrade and the company Mozzart!

An event was organized on the premises of the White Palace, supported by the UNDP and the Crown Council, where six innovative teams, which passed all phases of the program, presented themselves to representatives of Serbian ministries, experienced entrepreneurs, investors, organizers, and numerous guests. Representatives of the teams SOMA BioWorks, EasyPass, Inclusio D.O.O., Pet Travel Advisor Solutions, SportUp5, and Perun Lab had the opportunity to present their innovative business opportunities, show that they are ready to conquer the market and even more ready to attract significant investments. After more than six months of working with mentors and lecturers within the accelerator phase of the program, this was the moment for Univerzum teams to shine in full glory and show how much they have progressed since the beginning of the program!

The final event was attended by three guest teams from the region – UHURA Solutions, Remote Bob, and Solar Data Collector. They also presented their work, innovative solutions they are developing and the successes they have achieved.

All the teams did a great job, each pitch was unique and well prepared, and questions from the audience were also present, as well as great interest in new ideas and new solutions. Given the great success of the entire program and all the teams, it was certain that the awards would not be missed!

The General Manager of Digital Den Hub, Darko Ivanović, awarded two grants for a three-week trip to the United States, to the teams SOMA BioWorks and Perun Lab! On this unique journey, the teams will gain vast business experience, and connections with WC funds and business angels, but also with numerous other organizations ready to help them in the further development of innovative solutions.

Surprises and successes continued for the Perun team – Aleksandar Dragović from the company Labena Srbija gave them a Special Voucher as a reward for their work so far and motivation for further development! The voucher brings them the opportunity to use the entire research infrastructure in Biotech & Biopharma R&D Laboratory in Ljubljana and allows them to test and compare their prototype devices in Labena Molecular Laboratories, which have cooperation in the field with the pharmaceutical industry, clinics, food industry and institutes from the region and the EU.

Congratulations to all the teams on their success in the Univerzum program, and the team of the Center for Technology Transfer is especially proud of the innovative Perun team and their continuous development and progress, and the way we cooperate and support this young, university and ambitious team!

Until the next Univerzum…
