25 Mar B-FRESH team continues with successes
B-FRESH, a patented innovation developed at the University of Belgrade, and the team behind the original, environmentally friendly solution for food packaging and reduction of food waste, continues to achieve significant success! After receiving a mini-grant awarded by the Serbia Innovation Fund, the B-FRESH team won the OTP Bank – Generator Zero competition, which supports and rewards innovative projects and solutions in order to reduce the carbon footprint and make the green transition more efficient.
Among the 10 finalists this year, the B-FRESH team managed to convince the jury of the validity of their company and the solutions they are developing, and provided themselves with funds for further development and promotion in the amount of a great 2,000,000 dinarsRSD!
Let us remind you, the team consists of researchers in the field of materials science from the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research of the University of Belgrade. The team has developed a product – B-FRESH spray, which directly solves the problem of rapid spoilage of fresh fruits and vegetables. It is a biopolymer emulsion that contains active components of antimicrobial and antioxidant action, and which is applied in the form of a spray on various packaging materials for fresh fruits and vegetables, thus extending the shelf life of food up to 100%, without affecting their quality and not endangering human health.
We are proud of the fact that the team, which comes from the University of Belgrade and has been cooperating with the Center for Technology Transfer for a long time, has achieved numerous successes and continues to develop its innovative solutions. The team will use the obtained funds to implement several activities that will ensure further development, primarily marketing and increasing product visibility, achieving serial production and sales development, as well as actively seeking investors who will further strengthen them on the path to innovative solutions for the green transition.
