Serbian innovative teams for the world’s largest competition for green technologies have been selected

ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest competition in business ideas for green technologies. Nine Serbian teams competed for entering the finals of this competition and going to Cyprus to present their ideas.

Over 350 teams from 37 countries around the world are participating in ClimateLaunchpad this year, and Serbia is for the first time part of this interesting and progressive competition. These nine Serbian teams with ideas in the area of energy efficiency, food and agriculture, circular economics and industrial technologies presented their ideas to the expert jury comprised of Miroslav Miletić, Advisor to the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Čadež, Nedeljko Milosavljević, director of Center for Technology Transfer, University of Belgrade, Vuk Đukic, “South Central Ventures” and Ognjen Stanković, PKS Innovation Center.

The mission of this competition is to find and support ideas for green technologies in the field of climate change. Also, as a preparatory part for the competition, ambitious entrepreneurs and startups are trained to develop a business and present themselves to future clients and investors. At the ClimateLaunchpad finals, more than a hundred startup teams from 36 countries around the world will present their ideas to the international jury and numerous audience.

Winners of the competition held in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce on June 30, 2017 are the teams of “Freon Frog” Nevena Aksić and Milos Ranić, “Bambooing” Aleksandar Simić and “RioRE Briquette” Dragojle Božiž and Janko Božoviž, who were rewarded by going to the world finals in Cyprus in October.

Besides a significant cash prize of 10,000 euros, Serbian teams are given the opportunity to gain direct access to the famous “Climate-KIC Accelerator Program“, the main climatic innovation initiative of the EU, if they win in Cyprus.
