Global Entrepreneurship Centre in search for energy innovations

Global Entrepreneurship Centre has an open call for innovative solutions that address energy and sustainable challenges. The Global Entrepreneurship Centre supports transformative companies and technologies that are focused on sustainability and achieving the goals of sustainable development, circularity, and meeting global climate goals.

The new call will support startups in the energy sector in the following areas:

  • Material and/or product innovation;
  • Process, production, storage, and logistical innovation;
  • Local and regional circularity in energy and carbon systems
  • Carbon capture and use, including fields of textile, food, buildings, and mobility;
  • Business model and workflow innovation.

This call is an opportunity for all who:

  • are entrepreneurs and have an innovative and sustainable solution for more local and regional energy independence, self-sufficiency, and resilience;
  • have an innovative and sustainable solution for local energy production, higher efficiency, new storage technologies, more local and regional circularity, and self-sufficiency or new materials, processing technologies, or logistics;
  • have an innovative and sustainable solution for carbon capture and storage to use carbon as a feedstock for new local and regional supply chains;
  • want to have a positive impact and contribute to the sustainable economy of the future;
  • seek support and investors for the next investment round.

Companies that develop technological solutions above the third and fourth levels of technological readiness can apply for the call.

The company’s investment committee will select the winner, who will be financially rewarded in the amount of 200 thousand euros and will additionally select up to 10 startups that will join the GEC Catalyst program worth 20 thousand euros.
