Novel throat pastille comprised of natural active ingredients which have a strong antibacterial effect against bacteria resistant to antibiotics.
Oriblettes and throat pastilles are widely used around the world as a remedy for sore throats. Researchers from The University of Belgrade have developed a novel herbal based throat pastille which can be used to prevent and treat oral cavities and pharynx inflammation in human and veterinary medicine, as well as a number of other conditions.
The invention in this product relates to the combination of four dry extracts incorporated in oriblettes. The product contains natural active ingredients which have a strong antibacterial effect against bacteria resistant to antibiotics.
Besides the prevention and treatment of oral cavities and pharynx inflammation, this product can be used for the reduction or elimination of symptoms related to impaired tissues, and to stimulate the regeneration of the mucous membrane of the mouth, pharynx, tongue and gums in cases of non-infectious and infectious acute and chronic inflammatory processes. Furthermore, the formula is effective against irritation caused by tobacco smoke, small injuries and burns, and prevents the onset of periodontal diseases.
This pharmaceutical composition is the subject of new national patent application and PCT.
Based on the same composition, a gel and spray for the throat will be produced as well as a cream formulation for topical use.
This product was invented by researchers at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the Institute for Medicinal Plants Research.
We are looking for potential licensees and collaborators to develop and commercialize the invention.
